Meet Our Guest Artist Jackson Cooper
Conductor Jackson Cooper hails from Raleigh, NC where he began his musical studies and is a recent graduate of UNC-Greensboro. In high school, he served as Student Conductor for the North Carolina Symphony’s Youth Sinfonietta and assisted conductors at North Carolina Opera and Meredith College. He played Keyboard 2 and served as Assistant Music Director for Hot Summer Nights/Theatre Raleigh’s production of Violet starring Lauren Kennedy. At UNCG, he music directed community theatre productions such as Grease for WSTA and conducted UNCG Opera Theatre’s production of Giannini’s Beauty and the Beast.
He supervised original music for a new production of Sarah Ruhl’s The Vibrator Play, filled in as Music Supervisor for Playmakers Rep’s acclaimed Into the Woods, and served as Associate Conductor for Daughter of the Regiment with Greensboro Opera. He is a student intern for CVNC and writes about music for ICareIfYouListen.com & the Greensboro News & Record.
