On Nov 3, 2019, at Durham’s Carolina Theatre, the Durham Symphony Orchestra presented a joyful and critically acclaimed musical celebration of the Centennial of American Women’s Suffrage. The concert included three works by two 20th century American women and classics by Mahler and Brahms.
The first video from that concert is our performance of Peggy Stuart Coolidge’s “Pioneer Dance No. 1”. It is a fun, robust piece reminiscent of square dance music.
